    Conundrum # 62: Throttle sticking but not Stuck?

    My throttle cable returns and doesn't stick but the revs stay high. From reading I suspect my carbs are not synced/balanced properly or the like? If I turn the bike off and start it again, the idle is normal again. Here is video of the issue.

    What am I missing... ( Another Spark thread w Video)

    Hi Guys, Here is the breakdown thus far. Not getting any spark on both sides. 1. 82 XS400 DOHC. 2. Coil checks out. Primary: 3.2 and Secondary: 8.4 @ the Plug wire. 3. Brand new Battery, fully charged. 4. New Plugs ( NGK D8EA) 5. Fuses all good. 6. All lights work.

    Mac exhaust + Stock airbox: Jet Check

    Hi Guys, I have an 82, XS400 DOHC I am thinking about installing a Mac Exhaust with my stock airbox. 1. I need some advice on mainjet size for both left and right if I go this route. 2. Also is 127.5 left and 117.5 right, the correct main jet sizes for Stock? Thanks!

    What is this?

    I am wondering what this part is called and how to check for deficiencies around it. It looks like it had sparked or got burnt (There was black around the lower left edge). Bike is currently not running and I don't know its history. All other wires from the Stator, etc are in good shape.

    Brake Piston in too far?

    Hi Guys, I got a little carried away when putting the piston back into the caliper (replaced seals) - its pretty much bottomed out now. Will it still have enough backspace to pump the bastard back up once I refill/bleed the lines? Cheers,

    Okay, so 1982 Maxim XS400 resto project. I was in the process of buying new rubber, these are the sizes I got: Front: 3.00 S19 Rear: 130/90/16 Does this mean I'm running a 19" rim front and a 16" rear? Is that normal or am I out to lunch here? Cheers, Greggy
