I'm starting my cafe build and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to mount the seat to the frame in such a way that it could be flipped open on either the left or the right side to be able to access the battery and fuses?

Thanks for the idea, I think I just my try that this friday when I'm off. I was considering using the old pipes whenever I start my bobber conversion but the DMV is really strict on making sure you have baffles in your exhaust when you get it inspected so I would definitely consider selling.

This sounds all too familiar. I had a post one something like this that happened to me. Bike ran fine then one day I cranked it and it locked up. Turns out my pilot jet got sucked up into the cylinder. Here is the link http://www.xs400.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4639

ok I got you, this is making sense now. Only thing now is that the largest I can find anywhere is 160. What I've had in since I've had the bike is a 155. The only reason I've even really considering changing it out is because my engine ate the one on the left side.

So if you were rejetting would that be the jet to go up a size or would it be the one in the bowl?

Isn't the pilot jet suppose to be a 42.5 kinda like this?
