    XSRocker Build

Ok with the help of my roommate, who couldnt wait to use the torch, we heated the crap outta the bolt and used a BFH wrench and got the thing loose. Now I have to remove the motor and either venture into rebuilding it my self or finding a well priced shop to do it for me...any advice on...

Thanks for the ideas guys, I think I am going to try the welding a nut onto the oil filter cover and hope that does the trick. I tried an angle grinder to the engine bolts today but it wont fit. volcom- no problem dude. I flipped the bars just cause I could and wanted to see what it would look...

    Restoring wheels/ Buying new wheels

While I am restoreing my bike (1979 xs400 2e) I am thinking about the wheels. They are the chrome laced wheels. They have a bit of rust, maybe surface, on them and drum brakes. Would it be easier to have someone "spruce up" the wheels or get new ones. If I get new ones should I be concerned...

Ok newb question time, if I use the "simplified wiring diagram" in the tech section, will that be enough to run the bike and the needed lights? Also how do i hook up the fuses when building a new simplified harness? Disclaimer: I am a newb to building bikes and I especially hate electrical...

    XSRocker Build

So since my wiring was shot I need a new harness. I was thinking about getting on made with just the "bare bones". One that works everything like lights, turn signals, horn, guages and just general power. I could just use the kick start to start it. Anyone have any idea of where I can get...

    XSRocker Build

Well I tore into it again, tested the electrical parts...nothing. Well looked like the wiring was shot anyway and now I confirmed it, guess I need a wire harness. Thats about all I did today, kinda pissed me off. Oh well guess try and get all the wiring pulled up and try to clean it all up...

Well actually I have been wanting to rebuild it for a while but just recently asked my dad if I could have it, yeah it was my dads sitting in the shed for almost all my life.
