Alright guys, I rebuilt my engine and put everything back together. the problem is, now I am only getting an intermittent spark on the right side. The left is fine but the right side only sparks every 4 or 5 cycles or so. I swapped the plugs to rule that out. Not sure where to go from here.

the choke on these bikes in an enriching circuit therefore causing a rich condition for srarting. If you are missing your air filters, that would be a problem, causing a lean condition. Put filters on and see what happens.

i dont believe in coincidences. If the fuse is good and all the connections are solid and not corroded, another possibility is a wire corroded inside its insulation. Replace wires.

Give your battery a really good charge and test your alternator. If all that checks out, there could be a short in the neutral indicator circuit.

I have checked all the parts sites I can think of and I can't seem to find the air mix screws and the rubber washers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

if you are talking about the clutch push rod oil seal, it is super easy. Take off the sprocket cover to expose the area. Pull out the push rod, no tools required, just slides out. Pull out old seal. Put in new seal. Im sure you can figure out the rest.

they look sealed because they are. It is a royal pain to put those screws back in. its easier to buy a new tach/speedo

If the engine noise changes when you spray the air intake boots, air is coming in where it shouldnt be. Make sure all the clamps in there are tight and seated properly. Is your bike stock or has it been modded? I also agree with bentwrench, check the valve clearances, it's really simple and...

it certainly sounds like a lean condition to me. check the plugs to confirm. you can check for air leaks by getting the bike running and spray some carb cleaner around the intakes, if the engine noise changes, you have an air leak. How far out are your mix screws set?
