Intro: Lots of cursing and a eventually an 79 XS Rebuild.

I worked on the tank shape and paint for fun, I changed the shape with some bondo to give it some hard lines, I like how it turned out. Not sure about the 'rat-rod' paint job on the tank, I might go to just a Grey or Black, but it was fun not really a priority just something fun to mess around...

Hey thanks for all the advice and input so far, its the beautiful thing about forums is the advice is saved for later prospecting. Exams done for the summer. Now back to the Bike. :) I have cleaned up the jugs and the motor exterior some more. I removed the head-gasket by carfully scraping it off and then using 300 grit wet sand paper to lightly sand and completely clean the surface. The head-gasket was leaking. It...

I would be careful around plastic because it's parolium based too. But I'm sure it's ok if you wash the stuff off quickly, or better yet just test it on a small area first.

 The angle make all the difference. I have decided to wait for my Gasget set to arrive before really tearing into the motor, I did take the valve cover off. So I have been cleaning up the bike scraping much oil and wire brushing rust. I think I will take everything off the Frame and...
