    It's not a very big bike, but it usually gets me where I want to go: A 1978 Yamaha fs1 'fizzy' Originaly these things have 1,2 hp, but this one is tweaked a bit. The exhaust and carburateur come from the motorcycle version and the cylinder head is adjusted to build more compression. My guess...

    Never heard of anything like that, and it is obvious why: probably too little room for such an engine, ridiculous amounts of strain on a frame that is not built for it. If you conisder all the work and costs of such a project it would be easier/cheaper/a better ride to buy a proper r6

    The battery is required for the actual ignition. The charge goes from coils to battery and then from battery to sparkplugs. So install a good working one EDIT: bullocks vfost beat me to it ;)

    I believe the cilinders from a 400 fit on a 360 block. However I wouldn't make the effort, you will probably notice a difference but keeping money and time in the equation it will not be worth it I belive.

    That is not completly correct i believe. The only problem you will get with a higher compression ratio is that you get spontanious detonation wich will completly screw up your pistons, the only way to get around this is by using a gas with higher octane ratings. I dont know if these are easy to...

    According to "4 stroke performance tuning" by A. Graham Bell (look it up) you should raise the compression ratio on a Yamaha xs 400 from 9,2:1 to 10,2:1 and you should fit a free flow exhaust and intake to enhance performance. So you can probably mill down a lot
