'80 xs400 special. Okay was having problems getting speedometer open to screwplate back in. Took it off of frame. Hooked it back up, now its pegged at 80 mph even when not running. Any ideas on what I might have done? Tx alot, have a great day!
1980 xs 400 special. The little screws that hold the odometer plate in place fell out and plate twisted. How do I get to them? Tx alot, have a great day!

A place called Wisonsin Cycle Salvage. Its cyclesalvage.net. They carry alot of xs400s. All parts come off of working bikes. They will allow returns on everthing but electronic parts. Very good to deal with. Carbs are from 100-200 dollars tho! Good luck

Looks like I missed the starter jets. Are they under the diaphragm? If so, then I didn't even look at them. How do they come out? Tx for all of your advice, hav ea great day!
I couldn't figure out how to get them out after I removed the screw. So I sprayed carb cleaner in the opening. Do you think that will be alright. Tx alot, have a great day!

Hi everybody. 80 400 special. Got starter and solenoid working great. Went to start it tho and hjad to have choke out full to start. If I let go of the choke it would die. Started it left choke out full for a while. Kept on throttle, let in choke. Kept running but I would hear pop coming from...
Didn't know what caused no spark last year and bought a new TCI. Turned out to be a bad connector in my headlight bucket. Now I have 2 working TCI's. I live outside St Louis MO.
