after i got the float height right.. i made a manometer out of 2 mason jars,10 ft of 1/4 inch tubing, and 1/4 inch gourmets. cost me about 10$ to make spent about an hour or 2 tuning it.. its never ran better, with headers cut at my toes at that!!

both set of carbs i have are the same... the difference the ones i'm not using, somebody has cut notches where the mixture screws are to remove the brass plug covering them like the ones i'm currently using... debating on switching them out so i can adjust..... i did change the float hieght...

looked at my other set of carbs off of the other bike. i have never opened those up and that one ran fine.... they're sittin at an inch and 1/8 upside down and 1 3/8 right side up.... so 1.125 divided by .03934 is 28.5968 mm i think i'm gonna try lowering them back to that

.03934X32mm=1.2588 inches... so i guess thats right at 1.260... hmm still not running right

how bout in inches anyone??? the book says... xs250 and 360 = 1.046 +or- .040... but xs400= 1.260 +or- .040 ..... i have calipers... i'm sure i could convert but i don't have anything in metric to measure. i said screw it i'm tired of it running bad yesterday.. i took the carbs out thoroughly...

no battery was fine.. but i ran it dead fkn with it, charged it back up.. yanked the starter relay and threw in the one from my other bike.. was checking everything with a test light.. and the 2 R/W wires that complete the circuit threw the kill switch turns out they weren't making a...

not the head gasket.. it had to been a carb issue so i'm an idiot on that...... anyway new problem, like i said when i got home it wouldn't start again... i'm not getting any spark and my starter button won't work.. idk what the fk to do i've got an hour now :mad:

went to lunch with the lady, came back home and was gone remove the ignition cover to see if there was oil in there, but the heads of the screws are stripped andi can't get it off.. one of the screws(the lower one) is saturated with oil and i don't think that came from the tach........ but now...

I was actually wondering if there was oil underneath the timing cap...screw it ill take it off and look real quick before the carbs come off

you need cut and ground the green and yellow wire and only run off the two browns.. i did that with a badass little flasher off of a mack truck, i could put alot of lights on that thing lol

probably couldn't help ya there, ask bcware. he's smart on that stuff or drewpy... all i know is the more air your takin in the bigger jets you need.. i'm going to be going throught hat process soon, figured i'd have to buy a couple different sizes and spend a day testing
