my xs is running a lil sluggish and need advice on it. the main jet is 145, pilot is stock 42.5. do I need to go up one size for the pilot jet? it has pods and cut straight pipe. when I pull throttle it is sluggish. maybe lack of gas?:doh: heres a video

i recently opened up my carbs and looked inside at the pilot jets and found out they were drilled by last owner. I don't know if this will be a problem with it working properly as I havent started this bike in awhile. Even then it had carb problems.

I personally don't know any better on rebuilding a motor, but if I purchase a new motor, it is pretty much guaranteed to run. So my question is should I keep the motor or sell it for a newer model engine? and what newer model engine would fit into an 81 xs400sh frame?
