.... no. It depends on the type of bearing, too. You might not be able to put a spacer on top of certain types of bearings. You have to look at how the bearing is going to take the load top & bottom not just ID/OD.
Also just FYI I ordered several sets of bearings from allballs. You see in the...
Here is a picture of the XS400 project with the GSXr front end. Got to this stage and ended up being some things we didn't like, so broke it back down to make some minor changes.
I have no idea what you mean by a conversion kit.
You could pull a front end off of a 2011 Harley and make it fit. Bearing size doesn't matter. There are tons of bearings out there. TONS! I got a set of bearings for my front end that had the same ID as the OD of the GSXr center tube and the...
You need to look at a lot more than just "bearing size." You need the ID, OD, thickness, type, and probably what will be the most important thing, the length of the center stem. I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I bet you a quarter the triple tree you want to "bolt on" has a much longer center...
I'm using LED blinkers on my XS build. I'm wanting to replace my stock flasher relay with an LED flasher relay.
Anyone by chance know which relay to use? My stock relay is a 3-pin relay labeled C, L,.and B. I was looking up LED flasher replays at superbrightleds.com. I shot them an email and...
Do you by chance know which relay to use? My stock relay is a 3-pin relay labeled C, L, and B. I shot them an email and the response I got back was they *think* the 2-pin CF12ANL-01 would work. I would have assumed I needed a 3-pin replacement.
Let me know if you by chance know which one to...
Nope, not running. I was not aware the headlight wouldn't turn on unless it is running. If so, then that may very well be the problem!
Thanks for the heads up on the LED relay, as well!
:D
Building a custom Cafe'/dirt tracker style bike out of a 1981 XS400. Here are some details of the build:
Stock unmolested frame (including neck)
Large 53mm forks from a modern sport bike
Dual discs up front
Single disc rear
Chopped rear fender
LED taillight molded into rear fender...
Greetings!
I recently purchased new handlebar switches from MikesXS. They have arrived and look great. The right hand switch installation was simple. The left hand switch, not so much. I have blinkers and a horn, but no headlight.
I have a 1981 XS400. The original light switch had 6-wires...
They are all in good shape for the age. To be totally honest, I haven't looked over them real well because I knew I was replacing all those parts. The rubber seal is cracked and I'd replace those if I were going to keep using them. I rode the bike around for a while before tearing it down and it...
LOL no! Well I hope not. I know I can sell it now for what I have it in.... but like I said, I'm not done yet. So here shortly I might have to start saying, "It's worth about what I have in it."
Factory parts? Well I have an '81 XS400, 79XS400 carbs, XS750 rotors, a Harley muffler, GSXr triple tree, tubes/forks, front brakes, R6 rear brakes, R1 pegs, custom lights, and several other small custom parts and pieces. :D
