I started this build a while back and won't repost everything that I've done. Here's a blog you can peruse if you want to go back to the beginning of the project. Going forward, I'll try to post updates here as they happen. Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Here's the bike I...

Hey fellas,
So as parts research and sourcing continues for my build, I've come across a tank from DimeCity that I like the shape of. The thing is, this tank is fiberglass. I've never had a fiberglass tank. And though the site says the tank is good on all XS models, I have concerns.

Hey folks, apologies in advance for what's likely an old topic.

New member here. My wife just bought a 1980 xs400 special for $65 at a garage sale. I was actually on the Tail of the Dragon with my SV650 when she bought it. The XS was in a barn fire but never exposed to flame. just the fairing, controls and some wiring got a little droopy. so cafe/tracker it...
Hey all,
I am having trouble figuring out what lamp would work in my '79 SOHC. The reflective material is falling off of the inside of my lamp and I would like to upgrade to an H4.
I've read that our lamps are 165mm (6/5")? Is this true?
I'm also confused about what lamps will work with my...
Hello all
I'm looking at turning a XS400 special into a cafe/tracker type bike. My worry is that the cruiser style frame of the Special will not have the same look as the standard XS400.
I understand that the major differences between the two are mostly aesthetic. ie raised seat, raised...
