Please help, I need some gurus to give me direction!!

I posted about this earlier but I bough a project 79’ 400 that had a screw embedded in the head. I did a top end with a new head and that went fine. DOHC Spark Plug Question

I was reading through the manual and the spark plug required is NGK DR8ES-L. The info on the side cover placard of my bike indicates a NGK D8EA. D8EA is currently in my bike right now. Are these two spark plugs simply interchangeable?

Fixing a Cross Threaded Spark Plug

My left spark plug is becoming cross threaded and I want to fix it before a spark plug shoots across the highway. Is it possible to rethread the hole without disassembling the engine? If not, can I take the cylinder head off the bike without taking the engine out of the frame?
