Hello everyone!
I'm a new user from Italy, and i'm a happy new owner of a yama xs400. I noticed that a lot of valuable information is collected on this site, useful for the conservation, restoration and maintenance of the XS.
I'm really grateful for this information and for the hard work you have done here!

Unfortunately, the previous owner of my bike did not have the manuals. My model name is YAMAHA 4G5 XS 400 SE 1982 aka "Special".

I found the manuals at this link:
http://www.xs400.com/threads/yamaha-xs400-manuals.4503/
but I'm not sure if it's the correct one for my bike. In fact, i don't found the acronym "SE" on the manuals.

Can you help me?
Thank you so much!

The closest thing to a u.s. model would be the 81-SH model. Your bike looks like it has already had the exhaust and handle bars replaced with after market ones.

Thanks for reply. Searching over and over i finally found in this thread the manual that cover my model http://www.xs400.com/threads/re-run-free-full-yamaha-service-manual.14495/#post-151531

I would also like to buy Yamaha service/owner manual, like this one https://motofox.gratis/uploads/imag...5890e3ab04c97-6c34-47db-907b-3525aa4de5f1.jpg but unfortunately i can't find my SE '82 model. I only find XS400 generic '82 or SE '80 version.

Anyway i think you're right for the handle but i'm not sure about the exhaust.
