400 cafe slow build

well I have been riding this xs for about two years now haven't really done much to it because just been putting it aside so now its time to at least start with it. its going to be a slow process because of other projects I got going here it is how I got it two years ago



so my plan is to stretch it 2" and do a monoshock conversion, tank im not sure yet but im definitely keeping the original rims I like that there drum front and back makes the bike look older, heres how she sits today




and getting the rear swing arm ready for surgery :thumbsup:




heres one of the reasons this is gonna be a slow build :doh:

 
I saw the first two photos and worried you might be inexperienced. It looks like you've got this under control. Make us proud sir!
 
yes, solid ones will not heat up as easily and the bond with the weld will be much less strong
 
also the solid will cause a crease bend collapse due to them not flexing with the rest of the tubing.
 
Any updates? I have a XS400 I got on trade for an old deer rifle. I cant wait to start it, but I also have a Bobber project in front of it.
