It does have a starter button, its just the angle of the pic.

The 78 2-E was a kick only bike, no electric start. I don't see a button also

Yeah, you guys are right, it is a kick only bike, I just assumed all the xs400s were electric start. sorry for the confusion, good luck finding what you need and let me know if you still want the headlight.

hey, few odds and ends I need to complete my 78, hows the exhaust? Pics look good just need a good cleaning i hope, also the rubber bushings that stop the tank from bouncing all over the place, do you have those? They stick to the underside of the tank and side into the frame, there may even be a rubber piece that goes around the frame as well if you have those I would really like them. Also the tail light, and possibly the mirrors. If you have anything let me know id like to discuss a price for everything.

I have the tank, but it is very rusty, sorry. I do have a tank off of a later XS400 if you are interested.
