82 xs400 maxim tank swap

Hi I’m looking to swap my tank for something smaller as I am going for a more aggressive offroad style build, what kind of tanks are out there that I can look into trying to find, I would prefer a direct swap but I also don’t mind some modifications

Very limited number of tanks (if any) that will fit the 82 maxim. It's got that big fat back bone. I wish I could swap mine as it's not in great shape, but haven't found anything easy. I think (not quote me) that I read on here someone say that maybe an XS1000 tank from a particular year fits. But I can't imagine that being smaller. You might be looking at having something fabricated
