Aftermarket Busman Fuse Box

The only replacement fuse boxes I have seen in local auto stores are the style shown in the attachment made by Busman. I would like to once again clean up my fuses using a box like this.

My question is why is there only what looks like a single ground post? Is this normal? When doing the wiring do I just run all of the grounds to the single post at the bottom? I'm no electrician and this is just much different than how the oem wires run (a separate return wire for every fuse rather than a single return line for all of them).

No the single ground isn't what you want,
BC I would recommend replacing the fuse box with this mod from the XS1100 forum (may give your 400 a little 1100 power too:laugh:) E-mail TC (TopCatGr58 site admin at xs11.com) and I'm sure he can get you going this fuse box uses the blade auto fuses ATC ATO fuses

and as a added treat here is a pic of the fuse layout that will fit inside the fuse box cover (print full size) you might have to join XS1100 forum can't find a Email for him

nothing wrong with that box you found BC, it's the same style I'm using and it actually allows you to eliminate a lot of wire. The post is your hot, not ground:wink2:

Thanks for schooling me! I had no idea how to wire the style I pictured!

Was there a secret to getting it to work? Did you need to run a line to the battery?
Just pick up one similar for my bike and am pretty new at this.

Just pick up one similar for my bike and am pretty new at this.

no black magic to make it work. The power lead is the main lead that is already on the bike.
I should really clean up all those spaghetti wires this winter:eek:
 
bcware, that fuse box works great, I use a 6 fuse version. I rewired my whole bike using one. power from the battery to an inline 20 amp fuse. From this fuse to the key switch. From the key switch to the bolt on the fuse box. This bolt supplies power to all the fuses. Down each side of the box are the fuse taps. Add a fuse run it to the circuit you want to power. I have one for ignition through a relay, one to send power up to the right side switches to let the engine stop switch turn the ignition relay on, one for lighting, one to send power to the reg/rec and brushes, one for turns and brakes, one for horn.
