Hey there
I'm currently making my own keyless ignition similar to motogadgets m-lock, a lot cheaper though.
The problem is that is can only handle 3A, so i'm using an auto relay, i do however not know which relay to buy.
I see the motogadget m-lock utilises a 40A auto relay, but isn't that a bit on the high side?
Can anyone help my out here? how many Amps runs through the key ignition?
I simply want to buy the right relay, as my local shop has quite a few different.

I have a XS 400 SE from 1981. The keyless system i'm using is Velleman's MK179 kit made for security-systems, it can handle 12V and 3A.

I use a Bosch 4 pin 12V 40A relay for my bike's electrical system. It has worked fine for the past 3 years and 40k km. I've carried a spare relay but never needed it. You shouldn't have any problems
