building a xs 400 to hardtail

Tonight i spent some time on the tank. My idea for the tank and rear fender is give them a rust "look". I want to make the flames completely blank and just let them rust, above the flames I make it smooth. The flames on the tank engraved with the hand. Its look nice i think

So long time done nothing to the bike... Today i started with the tank . made the flames all blank steel and the other side smooth. so now it is in the primer !!

Oh, that looks cool. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about your flame design, but seeing the finished product it all makes sense. Your bike has great lines, too. Well done!

Nice. You may want to put the cover back on for the ignition pickup. The cover holds those rubber plugs from coming out and keeps the rocker shafts in place.

The final clear-coat really brings out the rust colour. Looks great!

I would make the tank and fender the same. But that's me. It's your bike do what you think looks best

This week i started to make a new wiring harness. Al new kabels en connectors al in black.... I make it a little difficult for myself

Great stance. I also like the fuel tank choice. Do you know what year and model it is from?

#bkoch its from a Jawa cz from i dont know exact what year its from. i think its about 1950.
The tank gap is welded more to the front of the bike , because it was to much in the middle.

So finally I had problems with the bike, the bike didn't run anymore...
After many evenings kicking.. en measurements. i came to the conclusion that the CDI had to be broken. So i made an ignition from a kit and now after months its running again!!

But it makes a lot of noise..

Can anyone tell me what kind of carb settings i will need when i use a open airfilter and an open exhaust?

I would never recommend open exhaust and no air filters so I can't help you there.
