Can't get my Points Plate Cover off

Hey guys so my right cylinder is not heating up so I wanted to check my points to make sure everything is timed right.

After doing some research I found out that my bike has a solid state ignition system, does those ever need adjusting? or are they set forever?

No they don't need to be adjusted. But can go bad, but out of the 12 units that I have had they all tested good. There is a test for them in the manual. I would make sure other parts of the ignition is working as well as carbs/motor are not the cause.
