Am starting to build a bobber. Picked up a xs400 off a guy for $800 cdn. Unfortunately he modified the frame and here you need an inspection. Am gonna buy a done frame and have it inspected then modify it lol. Will be doing all the fabrication and work myself. If I can't do it it's not going on. I like to work on my own stuff so then I know the quality of work. If you have any suggestions post a comment.

This is what it looks like after adding forks from a seca.

Saved myself some money and weight. Made this in a day with a hacksaw, a piece of aluminum, and some paint. Won't really be able to see it but it's the small details. Lol

Cool. Am trying to get it finished by April. Am gonna hardtail it, just haven't decided if I am gonna stretch it or leave the wheelbase the same. I guess time will tell.

Progress yesterday. The start to my forward controls. Will be using grind pegs off a bmx for foot pegs. Am going to try and find sole kind of small aluminum peg for shifter and brake. Maybe from a motocross bike, not sure.

Nothing in its current state. It's in my buddy's garage in pieces at the moment, just finished painting some of the covers. I'm in the middle of installing clip-ons with new electronics and rewiring for a more compact battery/electronics box.

Pretty generic cafe design, it's my first attempt at customizing a bike. I'm doing it all myself though, it's been a good challenge. Long term plans include a monoshock rear end swap.

No kidding, what's it off? I've been hoping to find one locally. What would you want for it? Been looking at YZ250 swingarms specifically and that kind of spec more generally, thinking I'll put the top mount either at the top rear of the triangle and gusset the inside angles or all the way at the front of the triangle where the triple brace comes together. Depends on the specific swingarm and the length of the shock I hunt down, I guess.
