Started a fork service last fall on my '82 Maxim, discovered the forks were heavily pitted, tried to repair (remove corrosion, "electroplate", fill voids with epoxy etc), wasted countless hours on that, still not serviceable so looking to replace them. The local salvage shop got evicted during COVID and was forced to sell their extensive collection of early 80's Yamaha gear to the scrapper. I'm now on the hunt for a good condition set of forks. 82 Maxim is the 35mm set and not easy to find. I have, however, found this list:

Any thoughts on which of the various 35mm bikes would be the best candidate for a relatively pain free donor? The 03-09 KTM 65 SX USD forks sound great in my head, but I'm sure would be a nightmare. RT180s look maybe to be more available on fleabay.
