I have a 1978 xs 400 with only a kick starter (which is kaput , big time)
Has any one out there ever retrofitted an electric starter to an xs400 which never had one?
If so, what are the components I need to start shopping for and do I need to split the cases to install it?

I know this is probably a remarkably boring topic but I can't believe there isn't SOMEONE out there that has installed an elctric start into an xs400(2e) that never had a starter before.
It seems as though it ought to be duh... simple but I know that is never the case. I'm especially wondering about fishing the chain through and where and how you wire in the starter button.
