Long story short, chain broke and wrecked some stuff. Engine case is cracked at the starter, and the push rod for the clutch snapped. Rest of it is in the engine, I need to replace it obviously (anyone in PDX have one) but first I need to get the old one out. Any ideas how to go about it?

Well

Snapped chains are never good.

The clutch rod goes all of the way through the engine case, so remove the right-hand side cover, remove the pressure plate on the clutch and push the rod out with a stiff piece of wire or small diameter rod. Just make sure to catch and not lose the small ball bearing that is at the end.

Let us know how the repair goes and what you do to seal the case. Good luck!
