helo everyone . i was wondering if anyone could help me decide on witch tires to get for my xs 400E 1978
WHEELS SIZE ARE
front 3.00x 18
rear 3.50 x 18
i saw in most of the bikes i like the firestones champion deluxe tires , and in the despcription about sizes it says 4 x 18.

will it work to place a 4 x 18 tire on the 3 x18 wheel???? : i know it makes the bike harder to handle , just wondering if it will fit correctly????
thanks

What about a 3.5x18 on the front?

I won't buy Firestone as they are owned by Bridgestone. And Bridgestone doesn't honor their warranty. Do a search here for more information.

my two cents on Firestone Deluxe Champion tires :

They are a replica tire intended for period correct restoration of 30's- 40's bikes. They are made by Coker tire under TM license.

On our bikes they handle like trailer tires. They are for " style" only and seriously limit handling potential and safety of our bikes. That being said, if it will be for design, style and looks only , they are the hot ( and expensive ) ticket - have at it !

If you want your bike to perform well , read the thread above on good modern tires -
