For Sale; 81 XS400 base model
8182 miles
This bike was originally a "custom" model with pullback handlebars and too short King and Queen seats.
It has been modified as follows;
GS style bars
reconfigured, flattened seat (back is still comfortable)
Round mirrors and taillight to replace clunky square
Slightly bigger shifter and pegs, which I thought were small for 11 1/2 Wide
Knee rubber so it looks more like a 70s British bike.
Front fork sleeves, Yamy emblem instead of letters
Regular maintenance and a good box of spare and original parts. Service manual and carb info.
Bike had only 3k something miles when I bought it. So I drove it about 5k over the last 4-5 years.
Bike is good to go riding, but not a show bike. painted myself with rattle cans and two-part clearcoat.
$2,400 firm, can deliver within 150 miles of Akron if you are willing to reimburse my time and gas.
These bikes are getting rare, modified or not.
