Front Caliper Piston Replacement

Hey guys, in the process of changing the front brakes, I noticed that the caliper piston is rusty and pitted.

will this piston from mikes XS fit a 79 XS400?

The Yamaha caliper piston is chrome plated iron, I had to replace both of mine.
I ordered from HVCCycle, the pistons were stated to be for an XS650 but if you look at the dimensions, height and diameter, they also fit an XS400. I wish the descriptions were more accurate. Get out your measuring equipment. The new pistons are solid machined stainless steel, like they should have been in the beginning.

Look down to the caliper rebuild kits, the kit is for a 650 but also fits 400s, 750s and others. If the rebuild kit works the piston should.

I just replaced my front piston with that exact same one and the rebuild kit. Fit like a glove.

good stuff i am doing that at the moment as well his parts are ok i get parts for my mates xs650 off him good price and faster than ebay usa shipping to aussie land lol

My caliper is locked up. I'm not even gonna mess with it. Guess I'll go straight to HVC and order a rebuild kit and piston.....
