I was reading the manual regarding changing my fork oil and noticed that they want you to disassemble the whole fork... Do you really need to? Also what oil do you recommend? 10w30 motor oil at 4-5 ounces in each tube on a 82 maxim?
I went with 20w fork oil in my maxim...pleased with the results, would recommend. Not much dis-assembly required for just the oil change...just drain out of the lower plug and then refill at the top after removing the stopper, no full rebuild required unless you're installing new seals as well
Yea I was able to take the top stopper off and go a "flush" since the seals are not leaking. By the looks of the old vs the new oil I would say it was time haha.
