Hey, new to the site but I have a 1982 xs400 YICS model and need to clean the carburetors and need to remove the fuel tank first. I am VERY new to this so I am learning as I go and wanted to ask those with more experience on the topic.

I've looked at videos on how to remove the fuel tank with fuel still in it, but not sure if this is the best way to approach this since it gets fuel everywhere. But still seems doable, just wanted a more detailed walkthrough.

What I've gathered so far is to pull the vacuum lines, disconnect the petcock, and un-do the bolts but beyond that, I'm not sure what to do in between.

If you know of any good youtube how-to videos that'd also be helpful!

    Disconnect the lines.
Unbolt the bolt at the rear.

    That's it.

Don't remove the petcock unless you need to work on the petcock.
