like where you are going, not sure about the tank though, it looks too big.

how about modding an xs750 tank?

Because it's getting a 650 motor and turbo so the whole bike is going to look squashed and why mod a xs tank that's standard protocol I'm doing something mad and one off xD

650 motor? Rebuilding the frame to be taller, are you? Or is the 250 motor taller than the 400 (cause the swap doesn't work with a 400 frame - not tall enough.)

Well the top of the frame is getting extra tubing welded around the back bone to support the gsxr 400 fuel tank, coils , condensor and bulk of the wiring harness the rear loop will have a stainless box fitted to house the battery, starter solenoid, indicator relegated, lighting relay, reg/rec & voltage regulator with underseat exhaust, the twin spar frame is shit and where the cradle connects to tge headstone it's getting cut, lengthened and braced with a brace under tge cradle section, the cradle will then be cut and moved down 600mm ( 2 inches) which is the clearance I need also brand new top mounts will be made to allow the engine to sit higher up allowing better weight distribution through out the front of the bike and the gsxr front end sits alot more prouder than the xs allowing it to lower the rear end and create clearance at the front for tge lower cradle arms and bigger motor! :) yeah I'm not some Barry bullshitter who cuts Willy nilly I do alot of research before I start any project

What I love about this project is that basically, it will be an XS in legal title alone (and maybe side panels.) Sounds like a big project - should be a blast!

Well drewpy , the swing arm i bought is seriously bent , but as im doing a mono shock im getting rid of the multiple dog links and making a 1 peice unit which allows the entire swing arm , shock and linkage to move but adds a stiffer set up and with the fully adjustable race shock it'll give me a nice stiff sports setup or near rigid drag set up , and the major rolling chassis conversion should be done by end of jan , then its buy the engine and adjust the frame to fit that inside , maybe end of feb , and finally its just the body work and electrical which im building a fibre glass seat unit , design a tank support fit some clocks and run the under seat exhaust so may/june depending on funding , it should be painted , finished and polished & 1982xs400 , ive got a custom seat unit in progress which holds a hidden break light under grille mesh , battery and some electronics and bentwrench thats the idea its a road legal drag bike , tuning it so the top end is MAX 135mph/140mph but it'll get there quicker than a gsxr1000 which will make all these Rossi wanna bes cry ;) haha

seen it man he done well , somethings i wouldnt do liked his bracing techniques , wasn't found of his swing arm mountings loved the tank shame the motor didnt get tuned up
