    Hello Everyone,
Im Looking to pick up some new engine casings but are all the xs400 engines the same? Going off the Vin would a 4R5 parts work on a 4G5 engine? Looking to order ASAP so any help would be much appreciated thank you.

  2. In short, they aren't all the same. Do some research, download manual from the site. Post pic of your bike. There are single and double overhead cams. Case may be the same tho, I don't know. Part fiche from partzilla will give you part numbers to search for to know for sure

I know on the SOHC engines there are different styles of mounting also in the frame.

Why do you need a case? I was gonna do this but I could find plane bearings.

If theres a crack, Id attempt to have it repaired.. much simpler and less costly
