First off this is drewpys idea, cheers mate! I thought it was a great solution so posted this maybe it will help someone out. I needed to protect my swing arm from the chain and remembered drew did something with plastic like this, anyhow heres what he did (from what I understood) he used black I'm using clear perspex because I had it lying around :)

So make a pattern with cardboard, then trace it onto the perspex and cut it out.

Next lay it in a vice, apply heat and bend down the mounting tab. After the initial bend I placed it on a square block and reheated and press it with a flat piece of metal to get a perfect right angle. Then place it where it will go on the swing arm, mark a spot for the mounting hole and drill out.

Now while it is bolted in place, work out what needs to go and cut off any excess material.

Now apply heat and bend around the swing arm.

Mounted on bike, I could have spent more time shaping it to get it pretty, but its no overly visible anyway once on the bike. Thanks again drew for this and all the other help you have given me over the years

Btw I put longer shocks on my bike so this was necessary imo, if you have stock size shocks you props wouldn't need to do this. I did not want to compromise my chrome plating so this was something I needed.

Yeah defiantly worth to do lucky, don't want to scratch new paint with the chain and its so easy to make.

Oh yeah forgot to mention I sanded and shaped the edges using a stone wheel on a bench grinder cause it was fast, if you used hand tools you could get it looking really nice if you wanted to.

A properly tensioned chain shouldn't hit the swing arm anyway, but chains do go loose, this is for when that happens :)
