I am recently new to having my own motorcycle. I need help. It is a 1980 Yamaha XS400 that I'm going to turn into a bobber. It came mostly in one piece but the front brake is off and I need help how to set it all up. Also, I just cleaned the carbs, but it still doesn't idle for awhile. Any tips?

Need more info. What do you mean? You're not able to attach the caliper to the fork legs? You're not sure how to bleed it? You're not sure how to reassemble the front brake??
You cleaned the carbs? How?

Welcome!

If you completely disassembled the carbs, boiled them a few times in some acid, poked through all the small holes and jets (there are more than you think), then you might say you have attempted to clean the carbs. Did you set your float height? And did you adjust your idle mixture using the idle mixture screws? Did you set the idle screw (at the end of your throttle cable)? Did you get new spark plugs?

As for the brakes, do you have a disc or drum brake? And yea, where are you at with the assembly?
