hi guys and gals. afeter being on the site and reading tons of threads and looking at great pictures for ideas I have decided to start a thread of my first build. this is a 82 heritage special I picked up from a buddy for $400. everything was bone stock except the bars anf filter pods. after spending the summer riding and rebuilding the carbs (had a cracked float) and adding bar end mirrors im ready for a winter rebuild. im going for a low budget, low skill bobber project since it will be my first build. any ideas advice or judgments are openly welcomed.

Welcome:) I also have an 82. I notice what looks like your front engine bolts are missing:eek: Make sure they are there on both sides. The 81-81 bikes only have three mounting points, top, front and the lower back. The top and lower back are on rubber bushings so the only solid point is the front.

So it's been a while since I've posted but I have been keeping busy with some tinkering in my spare time. Thought I would post some updates.

I don't but thanks. I had one that was just missing the bolts and I crafted the missing one out of stainless steel that I had laying around

Have to build mount for the seat. Chop and mount the rear fender. Do the wiring. Install a blade style fuse block. Install headlight. And that's just to ride it lol
