Me again.. XS400 maxim crank case cover. Mine is leaking a little. I’m having trouble getting a gasket, can I use rtv silicon? I’ve used it before with good outcomes. Thoughts?

Search the OEM part number. There are DOHC gakset fits out there also. You can also get a sheet of gasket material and make your own. Don't use RTV as it an get into the motor and plug up oil passages. When you get a gasket put a little grease on each side. This will make removing easy if you need to at any point and make sealing better. Tighten bolts in a star pattern and use equal torque.
