Personally an XS400 isn't enough bike for me to bother with, won't even comfortably handle a freeway, useless!

I got hearbroken by a guy advertising it as my dream bike, an XS650, but alas on further inspection, I believe it to be a worthless XS400 that I might give $50 for if I was desperate for a project to sell to someone in need of a wimpy sucky starter bike (though a Maxim model is a bit better). Anyway, have at, unless he's willing to take maybe $75 it's a worthless junkpile to me.

Didn't realize Port Hadlock had their own autobahn. I was doing 75-85 on mine yesterday (maybe more as it hit the speedo peg at 87). Maybe less bon-bons for you for your autobahn.

Thanks? Way to come on a 400 forum and wax poetic about your disdain for a 400...

I had a Maxim 400, good bikes, but just too small for my needs, not really disdain, but value wise, a 400 is not worth anything close to what a 650 is. Facts are stillf acts. If I lived where I didn't have to get on a freeway to be anywhere perhaps, but I have a Nighthawk 450 I'm always winding out. It'd be nice to have a bike that doesn't have to be constantly ridden at maximum load for a change. I may still pick up the bike, but I won't pay over $100 for it.

If someone is in love with 400s. and can identify it, why not? I kinda was, I feel bad about being super interested until I realized it was misadvertized.

Don't get me wrong I love all old bikes, but I don't wanna go down in power. I still might pick it up, I just couldn't really afford it at that price, though I would have for an actual 650.

I'm mostly just bummed out I thought I was finally getting a 650 I could afford only to have my hopes dashed.

I had three xs650 bikes for a few years. More power way more torque but much heavier but vibes like crazy over 65 mph. Sold them along with a truck load of parts I had. Bought 4 more xs400 bikes. If I have to ride 75+ mph for a long period of time I will take the car or truck. Don't feel like being in traffic on any bike at those speeds.
