I started stripping the front fork to install new seals, oil and springs. Here is what Progressive 011-1109 spring looks like next to the stock spring. I went with the stiffest spring because I am about 245lb. Progressive in the back....

Please follow up on this. It's something I am thinking about doing during the next fork rebuild.

Oh, shit bird. Bummed your tubes are all effered up - but I'm excited for your new springs. I've been wanting to do the same thing for a while (front end IS divey), but can't find cheap-ish springs (seem to be $90 each whenever I find them)

Good luck, thanks for sharing.

those stanchions can be re-hard chromed.

we have a specialist in the uk called philots, but I'm sure you can go to hydraulic ram repair specialists who do that sort of thing all the time

If someone knows where I can find used tube for $40 let me know. I can't remember where I got the springs, will have to check the invoice.

I got mine off of here from an awesome guy, but check ebay. You can often buy just the tubes or the entire fork. You can also make a wanted ad on here.

Ebay is a good place to look and salvage yards. Also the xs360 used the same tube (33mm) There was a guy a few week ago on ebay that has an entire front end for $60 but I don't remember the shipping cost. With you being in Canada shipping may be an issue.

For those that have earlier models (mine 1L9) and free fork spring length of 19.02" (484mm), are you installing the above progressive spring as the full 19.75" ? Or are you cutting them down to 19"?
