Rev counter (Tach)

Hi,

I’m in the process of customising my 1982 Xs and I don’t want to to run a rev counter.

I have removed the cable from the engine and was wondering if it is ok to leave like this I’m pretty sure there’s a seal to stop oil coming out but seeing what others have done.
