About a week ago my shift lever went limp while I was riding. I wasn't able to downshift until I figured out that I needed to lift the lever slightly first. I carefully rode home and talked to a friend about it. He said that it sounded like one of the springs broke.

Well $5 later I had a new spring about about an hour later I had installed it. Extremely simple fix. Just thought I'd share the story and pics of the broken spring.

Here are the two halves. I'm thinking about turning it into a necklace for fun.

I had my shifter "go limp" this summer......mine ended up being stripped splines on shifter arm. Had an extra one laying around, so the fix was quick. Nice though, maybe someone who has a similar issue later will be able to use your info...
