side panels

Hi does anyone know if the R/L side panels on a 82 2a2 xs 400 fix to the battery box (which I don't have) or fix to the frame its a project bike. maybe original messer has cut original fixings off (don't know) .. any help many thanks.... Higgy uk.

Not sure exactly what model you have but most I think hook to the frame via tabs.

Thanks for the reply..sorry no pics.. im thinking tabs have been cut off by previous owner. il have to weld some back on. thanks anyways..... Higgy
