Hey all.
I’m in the planning phase of doing a little customization on an 1982 Yamaha XS400.
I’d like to keep it as a soft tail but also want to add a solo seat on it (or maybe a cafe style).
I also am hoping not to chop/weld the frame to make it happen.
I see most seats available require an existing horizontal bolt threading through the front of the seat mount to secure it that the XS doesn’t have.
Im wondering how you guys mounted your seat and if the idea in my pics/description makes sense.
I’m picturing a steel bracket with a piece of pipe welded to it that would bolt on using those existing bolts like in the pic.
Is there any easier way or something I’m missing?
I’d love to see pics of what you guys did.
