Hey guys. A little off topic, but, Since you sold me on using the t4 rotella with my xs400, can I go ahead use it on my other 2 bikes??. One is a 95 xr200, and the other is a 2003 600 honda shadow. both are rocker arm valve motors...?? thanks.

IS t4 Rotella ok for the clutches?
Isn't there certain additives in motorcycle oil because of the wet clutches?

T4 is diesel oil, it has many if the same additives as motorcycle oil, and namely lacks some of the detergent additives that cause damage to clutches. At least, that's how it was explained to me.

I have about 15k on my bike since I bought it, all on shell Rotella T4.

To answer the question: I've topped off my bike with motorcycle oil when it was leaking recently, had no issues. I run T4, I don't see how mixing would cause and adverse issues.

Rotella meets the JASO-MA oil spec. (Actually, probably JASO-MA2) And that's the spec you need per the manual.
