Test motor?

Discussion in 'The Garage' started by Carolinarooster, Jun 12, 2015.

  1. Ok, Im at a point where I want to make sure the motor is still good to run...
I have the motor mounted on the frame. Can I hook up the battery, carb, gas, and get to start to hear run before I go crazy with the wiring and everything else?
If so, what all do I need to connect?
thanks, forgive me if this post is stupid

Wish it was that easy... But you will have to wire in the coils, condenser, points/CDI, rectifier and a on/off switch (sure I am missing a few small things). If you just want to hear/see the engine turn over, then you can just put power to the starter and a ground to the frame.

Bike looks good, and like the engine all black.
