The greasey fingers build :)

Hi Dan, actually got the seat from the states via ebay. Its a west eagle sr400 seat, but I think that company has since folded.

Did a bit of tube bending today, this was actually a bit fiddly because of the long bend angle. Harder than it looks to get right and I had to just eyeball it, did about four very slight bends to follow the line of the seat. Its not 100% perfect but im happy with it and once its all painted black I think it will do fine. This was actually one of the bigger hurdles for me so im glad its done, yay!

Heres a very rough mock up of the rear mudguard and tail light, enough to give an idea of where Im heading with style wise.

Trimmed up the rear loop to get a better idea of how its going to look. Its not 100% perfect but I don't think I will ever be able to do one with no gaps at all between the seat and rear loop. Im just trying to get it as neat as possible and follow the lines of the seat with minimal gaps. Once painted the gaps that are there wont be as noticeable either hopefully.

Just need to find a solution for mounting the rear fender now, anyone got any ideas or can offer some tips/advice?

Depending on how much clearance you need between the seat and the fender, you could mount the bottom of the fender to the swingarm and add 2 struts on the back. That way you can get your fender really close to the tire (which looks good to me) without scraping it on bumps. You'd have to test if you'd have enough clearance from the seat/loop when going over bumps though

Yeah I like the look of the fender close to the tire. Do you mean two long struts at the back going down to the wheels axle?

cheers levdir, hey what would be good to use for the struts? Just round metal rod or is there any other options you guys have used/seen?

Im thinking maybe mounting the struts from the swing arm where the little hole is (I put a red circle around it in the photo below)
