I am having a blonde moment. Can someone confirm where you attach the ground to on the engine. Is it to a valve cover bolt?

Thanks.

you mean this?

I think that is the one. Is that just attached to a case bolt near the rear engine mount?

I am guessing that the engine ground purpose is to complete the spark plug circuit. Is that right?

Cheers.

When I stripped my bike down, I took a pic so I'd remember where the wire went. Ironically, I forgot I had this pic and attached to wire somewhere else. And yes, it's just a case bolt.

Generally the engine grounds to the frame. Take any engine mount apart. Clean off any paint or powder coat or rust where the parts touch metal to metal. A bit of grease will help keep things clean. This will give a good ground from engine to frame. Now do the same to the battery ground. Clean metal to metal contact.
Any other grounds the hook to the frame need good clean metal to metal contact.
This will cure at least 75% of your electrical issues.
