Will an xs500 tank fit?

Will a 77-79 xs500 tank fit the 400 backbone without modification?

I have never seen anyone post up a tank from any other make or model that fits without modification.

it almost fits, you have to gently widen the tunnel with a ball peen hammer and make a bracket for the rear mounting holes

my favourite hammer is the 5 pound sledge, it's great for making things fit
