hello guys, iam curently servicing one xs 400, bike is droping huge amount of oil, we reseal engine, but somehow its still drip. I found source of oil behind clutch and primary sprocket cover. My idea is: oil is going up on starter chain, seal from starter is not sealing and thru the hole in engine case outside the engine. is my idea right? what parts I need for resealing the starter? just O-ring aroud starter, or some special seal?

Thanks, Ondrej

few pictures of leak are down

Your big circle is around the grommet where the stator and field coils enter.
Hard to find replacements.

May need to remove the stator cover and reseat the grommet with some liquid gasket.

nope, the big red circle is oil from upper hole from engine starter, thats just path of oil from the hole few minutes later after first picture
