Back with another question for my XS400g cafe racer, I would like to remake my instrument cluster to be slimmer with an Arduino. My question is, whats the ratio for the cables going to the mechanical Tach and Speedo?
Thanks for the speedo ratio! if there was a electric signal I totally would use it but I don't think there is. I'll do some research to confirm though.
You could monitor the ignition circuit to determine the rpm. Either something in the primary ignition system or a capacitive clamp on a spark plug wire.
A hall sensor could probably be placed somewhere near the pickup coils as well.
