To update to this. Crazypj mentioned on another thread that xs650 liners and gsxr1100 78mm pistons would be able to fit. If thats true then we would have a 501cc engine. But later I believe he went on to use gs500 liners and pistons. Gs500 uses an 18mm wrist pin with a 26mm crown height.

Maybe I missed it somewhere but are you going with Flat side carbs? are these TMs or PWK?
I cant wait to see this thing run. I will have questions on how you like your carbs, your megacycle cam, and the rs125 forks.
Its a general consensus that these bikes are not worth putting money into...
I had vm30s on my xs400. They worked okay but it left me wishing for more throttle response. I got the vm26 kit from speedmotoco and have been very happy with it ever since, although I did have to play with jetting as its not fully bolt on. Throttle response is as fast as I can whip the throttle...
I have speed motos kit and it's okay. Raise the needle one spot or too and you will be able to ride it. I've been emailing them for a year now. I dont like the needles they send with it. One thing I suggest is getting the 90 degree elbow for the throttle cable on top of the carbs. This will make...
So for my mikuni vms I dont have alot of space right above my carbs and its affecting my throttle. So how do I go about adding the 90 degree elbows? Do I just cut off the appropriate length of the sheath?
Sorry if this is a dumb question
Under wide open throttle the bike performs well but going from cruising 3/4 or 1/2 throttle down to idle, it will hang and not want to go down to idle. Carbs are synced and throttle cable is not hanging up. Timing is spot on.
Right now I've got a 5f21 needle and a 182 n-8 jet needle and I need to go to a richer with the needle.
When I'm looking at the chart from mikuni or sudco its just not making sense to me..
Can someone give me a dumbed down version on how to choose jets?
