In the end I had to repair all 4 pedestals. No need to use set screws - if you drill the float-pin-holes @2.5mm the pins will still press-fit as they are tapered 0.1mm to 0.2mm larger at the head. Cheers.
I drilled/tapped/aligned two brass pc motherboard standoffs (M3) to repair broken float pedestals. I can use set screws from the top of the standoffs to hold the float pin in place. Two original pedestals can be seen on the carb (Mikuni BS34) in the foreground. Best I could come up with for a...
